Kelly Rowland on argument with guard: "I stood my ground"

Earlier this week, Kelly Rowland trended after a video went viral showing her having a fallout with a security guard.  

The conflict happened on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.  

In the video, Kelly can be seen posing for photographers before a group of ushers leads her off the carpet.  

The situation escalated when one of the guards seemingly tried to rush her along by holding an arm behind her back. Kelly then turned around and appeared to scold the guard, holding up a finger to accentuate her point. 

The guard didn't stop there... as Kelly started to walk away, the guard spoke with nearby workers, seemingly trying to explain her actions. This prompted Kelly to turn around and add another remark. 

Kelly Speaks Out 

In an interview with the Associated Press on Thursday (May 23), the singer explained that she stood by her boundaries. 

“The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it," she explained to AP.

“There were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off,” she added.

“I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers.”
