Priscilla finally opens up about divorce from Elvis Presley
Priscilla Presley, who married Elvis Presley at the age of 21 and filed for divorce six years later, has opened up about the reasons behind their split.
She told ITV that Elvis was very much a control freak and that everything she did depended on him.
"He would control what I wear, how I do my make-up and even determined who I could be friends with," she told the hosts of Loose Women.
Priscilla concedes that she didn't get divorced from the King of Rock 'n Roll because she didn't love him, but that she needed to find herself.
"We met when I was 14 and got married by the time I turned 21. I needed to live," she said in the interview.
Elvis and Priscilla met on September 13, 1959, during a party at Elvis' home in Bad Nauheim, Germany, while he was serving in the Army.
Despite being only 14 years old at the time, she made a huge impression on Elvis with her much older appearance.
They married in May 1967.
