Sheldon Cooper is back - and he's younger

The spin-off to the popular sitcom, The Big bang Theory, is scheduled to hit our screens soon.

Producers released the first glimpse of Sheldon Cooper as a 9-year-old.

 

Lance Barber, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan have joined the cast of the Chuck Lorre comedy while the original Sheldon Cooper, Jim Parsons as the narrator.

 

CBS ordered a straight-to-series TV show for the 2017 / 2018 broadcast season and the show is called Young Sheldon.

 

The series' offical twitter page posted a 5 minute teaser online with a caption that reads: "First Look: Young Sheldon."

 

According to the twitter handle this new comedy follows the life of young Sheldon Cooper as he navigates childhood as part of a small town Texas family.

About Sheldon:

 

Sheldon Lee Cooper, Ph.D., Sc.D., is a fictional character in the CBS television series The Big Bang Theory, portrayed by actor Jim Parsons. 

 

For his portrayal, Parsons has won four Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a TCA Award, and two Critics' Choice Television Awards.

 

Sheldon is a senior theoretical physicist and shared an apartment with his colleague and best friend, Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki).

 

He is a former child prodigy with a genius level IQ, but displays an almost total lack of social skills, a tenuous understanding of humor, and difficulty recognizing irony and sarcasm in other people - although he himself often employs them.
