It is no secret that Thomas Markle and his daughter, Meghan, don't have the best relationship.

Over the years, the father has publicly criticised his daughter, and he did it again in a recent YouTube video he posted.

The 77-year-old slammed Meghan and her husband Prince Harry for not attending Prince Philip's memorial service, which took place in London's Westminster Abbey on March 29. The memorial was attended by the rest of the Royal Family, including the Queen, who has suffered from a bout of health problems in the past few months.

Thomas said Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's behaviour was disrespectful to the Queen.

"Attending and giving respect and giving God's grace to Prince Philip for a lifetime of service was very important to the Queen, and for them to not show up was like a slap in the face to the Queen," he said.

The father said missing the memorial is unforgivable.

"It was unforgivable. The British people won't forgive them for that, and they shouldn't," he said.

According to Daily Mail, Prince Harry could not travel because he could not get personal protective security while visiting the US, even though he said he would pay for it. After stepping back from royal life, he lost his right to publicly-funded royal protection.

"I don't know what the reason was, but there's no excuse at all. It's a slap in the face for the Queen and that is horrible, and to the British people," Thomas said.

"He should be ashamed of himself, and ashamed to ever go back to England."

Prince Philip died on 9 April 2021 aged 99. His funeral was attended by only 30 people, including Prince Harry, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
