Toya de Lazy comes out in support of fees students
Updated | By MornéJK
Singer, Toya de Lazy who attended the premiere of Disney's Queen Of Katwe in Johannesburg last night, says she supports the call by students for free quality higher education.

Speaking to Jacaranda FM News at the event, De Lazy said that while the current instability on campuses around South Africa is not ideal, knowledge is power.
"It is not an easy time because all they are fighting for is knowledge and I realise that without knowledge you do not have the power you need to push you forward."
She urged students to fight the good fight.
"All the revolutions started with the schools. If you look at history, if the schools didn't revolt, apartheid wouldn't have fallen apart."

De Lazy added that while it is unfortunate how the protests have unfolded, it is not up to us to decide how a revolution is fought.
"I really hope things change," she told Jacaranda FM News.
De Lazy recently returned from her European tour and is embarking on a national tour back home in the next few weeks.
