N3 bridge was 'in good condition'
Updated | By Jacaranda FM news
Transport Minister Joe Maswanganyi says the bridge that collapsed on the N3 was inspected by roads agency SANRAL last year and found to be in a good condition.

Maswanganyi visited the site of the collapse this morning.
He was accompanied by officials from SANRAL and the Gauteng MEC for Transport Ishmael Vadi.

"We were told that the bridge was in a good condition and we have a certificate in that regard.
"However, what happened yesterday was shocking. We don't have all the facts as to what led to the collapse of the bridge," Maswanganyi told the media.
A team of experts has been appointed to determine the cause of the collapse.
The disused bridge collapsed in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Several people were injured after four vehicles crashed into the concrete bridge, which was lying across the freeway.
