100 learners injured in horrific accident

More than 100 people, the majority of whom are school children, have been injured after a truck and a school bus collided on the N12 in Westonaria on Tuesday afternoon.

Paramedics say upon arrival, they found a large group of children walking on the scene.
ER24's Ineke van Huyssteen says the children are believed to be between the ages of eight and 14.
"At least 100 people who sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. The driver of the truck sustained moderate injuries."
One child has been seriously injured and was lifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital for further care.
Westonaria police spokesperson, Linkie Lefakane, says cases of reckless and negligent driving are being investigated.
