11 people killed in horror KZN crash
Eleven people have been killed in a horrific crash involving three trucks, a minibus taxi and a bakkie in the South of KwaZulu-Natal.
The accident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning on the R612 near Ixopo and Highflats.
KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie says initially 9 people sustained fatal injuries while paramedics treated 12 patients at the scene.
Fatalities have since increased to 11.
McKenzie says the exact cause of the crash is unknown and the police are investigating.
The road was still closed by Thursday lunchtime.
