13-year-old killed in taxi crash

A 13-year-old child has died and two others were left in a critical condition after the taxi they were travelling in crashed in Vanderbijlpark.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says several people were were ejected from the vehicle and were found lying on the road on Monday morning.
"Paramedics began to assess the patients and found that a girl, believed to be 13-years-old, had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead," he says.
Two other people are in a critical condition.
"A 16-year-old man as well as another adult man, had both sustained numerous injuries and were in a critical condition. Approximately 16 others had sustained minor to moderate injuries," says Meiring.
The exact cause of the accident is not yet known.
