13-year-old murder accused to remain in custody

A North West teenager who allegedly stabbed a classmate to death with a pair of scissors will remain in custody.
It is believed that the 13-year-old was involved in an altercation with a classmate at Mateane Primary School in Delareyville, near Vryburg.
The grade 5 boy is facing a charge of murder.

Police spokesperson Sam Tselanyane says the boy appeared briefly at the Atamelang Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Tselanye says the case was remanded pending an application for legal representation.
The accused will appear in court again on Friday.
North West education spokesperson, Freddy Sepeng, says the department visited the school on Wednesday to offer counselling to learners and teachers.
