15 injured during illegal drag race in Rustenburg
Fifteen people have been injured after a car crashed into a crowd of spectators during an illegal drag race in Rustenburg.
Police in North West say three vehicles collided and crashed into several pedestrians on Zendling Road on Sunday afternoon.
"On scene, medics found that two vehicles that had allegedly been racing each other crashed into a third vehicle and veered off into a crowd of spectators. Medics found numerous patients lying along the sidewalk.
"Medics assessed the patients and found that fifteen people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical. No fatalities were found," says ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring.
North West police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
