15 pupils injured after truck ploughs into Cosmo City classroom

Fifteen pupils were injured on Wednesday morning when a truck transporting bricks ploughed through their classroom at a school in Cosmo City, north west of Johannesburg.

The pupils attend Blue Eagles Secondary School.
According to Emer-G-Med paramedics the driver lost control of the truck, which subsequently veered off the road and ploughed into the classroom full of pupils.

The pupils, aged between 14 and 18 years, sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to hospital.
Spokesperson for the Department of Education in Gauteng Steve Mabona says the children at the school will be provided with psycho-social support.
