Eskom says an estimated 15,000 customers were without electricity following damage to its infrastructure in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) in yesterday's storm and tornado.
Power supply to 5,000 customers was restored overnight, but on Wednesday morning technicians were still trying to reconnect the remaining residents in the areas of Mpolweni, Dalton, Wartburg, Albert Falls, and Swayimani.

ER24's Ross Campbell confirmed on Wednesday that 2 people died following the severe storms.
"It's not yet certain how they died but we are assuming that they were crushed under a collapsed roof of some sort, but it was in the dead of the night," explains Campbell.
