16 Days of Activism: Taking a stand against women and child abuse 365 days a year
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Foundation for Human Rights (FHR) is a grant seeking organisation.
It supports civil society organisations in South Africa, to implement programmes which promote and protect human rights.
Established in 1996, the Foundation's aim has been to address inequalities and promote human rights values.
Project Officer at the FHR, Avril Mafemba says the foundation usually invites organisations to apply to them.
The proposals which are aligned with the organisation's key result areas, are chosen.
Mafemba says the foundation is advocating for a 365 days stance against violence during the 16 Days of Activism campaign.
"We are always seeking ways to contribute towards building strong civil society organisations and public institutions that promote, protect and fulfil human rights", added Mafemba
