16 linked to Durban taxi shooting arrested

Intensive police operations followed the shooting at a Durban taxi rank on Friday.

Police Minister, Bheki Cele says violence - especially in the taxi industry - won't be tolerated.
Cele visited the Brook Street taxi rank in the Durban CBD on Saturday - following a deadly shooting on Friday night.
"I can assure you, we (police) will act very decisively," says Cele.
Police say a group of men arrived in a minibus on Friday night and opened fire.
A 56-year-old man who was shot - died later in hospital - while two other people were wounded.
The men fled - but were later spotted in New Germany where a shootout with police ensued.
16 suspects were later arrested and 17 firearms - including nine rifles - were seized.
Cele says a Provincial Task Team has launched an immediate investigation into the shooting.
