17 arrested for stock theft in northern KwaZulu Natal

Seventeen men have been arrested for stock theft and 43 cattle and one skin recovered during operations by police in KwaZulu-Natal.
Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said an operation was conducted from 14-24 August by the Vryheid and Melmoth Stock Theft Units.
“Fourteen were charged for stock theft, one was charged for possession of livestock suspected to be stolen and two were charged for illegal hunting.”
Zwane said 15 summons were issued.
The arrested suspects appeared in various courts while the recovered livestock was handed to their lawful owners. -ANA
