Twenty people were arrested for speeding in Ekurhuleni at the weekend, metro police said.

"The highest speed was by a male driver in his late 50s, clocked at 188km/h driving a BMW motorcycle and stating that he was late for a breakfast meeting with friends," said Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago.
Nine people were arrested on the R21/Olifantsfontein bridge on Sunday morning for exceeding the speed limit of 120km/h, he said.
Seven others were arrested at other times between Friday and Sunday for travelling at speeds of between 161km/h and 175km/h.
They had all been released of bail of between R500 and R1000 and would appear in court soon.
