24 killed in Limpopo minibus crash

Police in Limpopo are investigating the cause of a horror crash on the R81 road between Mooketsi and Giyani on Sunday night.

The crash claimed the lives of 24 people and left five others injured.
Provincial police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says it is appears that a bus and a minibus taxi were involved in a head-on collision.
"During this fatal crash, 24 passengers in the Quantum died instantly and one sustained serious injuries and he was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. In the bus, the driver and two passengers sustained serious injuries and they were also transported to the hospital for medical treatment.”
Authorities are in the process of identifying all the victims.
Police are also probing a case of culpable homicide.
