28 learners injured in Mpumalanga
Twenty eight learners were injured when they bus they were traveling in lost control and overturned on the R33 near Mpuluzi, Mpumalanga on Tuesday morning.
Mpumalanga Community Safety Department spokesperson Zandile Mandlazi said four learners sustained serious injuries, while the other were only slightly injured. They were taken to Ermelo Hospital for treatment.
"It is alleged that the driver of the bus was trying to overtake another car and then overturned. The driver was checked for alcohol. Both the license and professional driving permit are in order," said Mandlazi.
