3 children drown in illegal mining hole

Limpopo police Limpopo are investigating after three children drowned in an illegal mine hole in Mecklenburg.
The children have been identified as siblings Machaba Ramabala (8) and Itumeleng Ramabala (9) and their 7-year-old friend Pabalelo Mokgethwa.
Police spokesperson Mamphaswa Seabi says the three children went out to play on Sunday morning but never came back.
The parents went searching for the boys and proceeded to the illegal mine hole which was filled with rain water.
"On arrival, they were met by the sight of their children's clothes next to the dam, the matter was reported to the police.
"Three bodies were later retrieved from the water.”

Seabi has pleaded with members of the community to be careful around illegal mining holes.
"Where there are holes, they must cover them up so that there shouldn't be any more fatalities like this."
