3 killed in Mpumalanga crash

Three people died after the car they were travelling in overturned on the N11 near Middelburg in Mpumalanga on Saturday afternoon.

The driver seemingly lost control of the vehicle, which authorities described as being overloaded at the time of the crash.

Spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety Moeti Mmusi says three other passengers sustained minor injuries.
“Other then the fact that the vehicle lost control, what could have prompted the driver to not be able to control his vehicle, is unknown.
“The police in the area are investigation three counts of culpable homicide.”
Mmusi adds that the injured passengers are undergoing treatment in hospital.
“Those who were injured are still in the hospital as we speak, none of them have been discharged where they are receiving treatment.”
