Police in Cape Town are investigating the death of three people killed in taxi-related incidents on Monday.

A taxi driver and his assistant were gunned down in Nyanga after arriving from the Eastern Cape.
“Unknown suspects fired several shots at the taxi killing both occupants,” says Western Cape police spokesperson Novela Potelwa.
In a second taxi-related shooting on the same day, gunmen shot and killed a taxi driver on the corner of Sheffield and New Eisleben roads.
“Taxi drivers in a Quantum vehicle came under fire from unknown suspects just after 5:00,” Potelwa adds.
“A 24 year old taxi driver died on the scene while two others sustained serious injuries and were taken to a medical facility.”
This brings the total number of people killed in taxi violence since Friday to 6.
