30-hour shutdown of water supply to hit several areas in Joburg from Friday
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Johannesburg Water says several suburbs across the city will experience water cuts due to an emergency shutdown by Rand water.
The emergency shutdown is due to a major burst on the A6 pipeline which pumps water from the Vereeniging purification works to Zwartkopjes pump station.
The 30-hour shutdown will start at 6 pm on Friday to effect repairs.
Johannesburg Water spokesperson Puleng Mopeli says several towers and reservoirs will be affected.
Affected towers and reservoirs include Forest Hill, Yeoville, Berea, Parktown, Hurst Hill and Crown Gardens.
