4 held for rhino poaching
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Four men have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to poach rhino on a farm in Lephalale, Limpopo police said on Wednesday.
They were spotted trespassing on the property in a vehicle on Monday, Colonel Ronel Otto said.
They were tracked by rangers, but managed to flee when they realised they were being followed.
They were arrested on Tuesday evening.
"Trackers followed the tracks for several hours until they arrested the four suspects still on the farm."
An axe, hunting knives, a silencer, pliers, and screwdrivers were confiscated. Police were hunting for more suspects, Otto said.
They would appear in the Lephalale Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of trespassing and conspiracy to poach rhino.
