4000 fines issued since the beginning of the Easter Weekend

The Road Traffic Management Corporation says most fines have been for speeding, overloading and people driving without the necessary licences.
Spokesperson for the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), Simon Zwane, says they are especially concerned about the high number of speedsters on the country's roads.
"These have emerged as our biggest problems".
But he adds they are satisfied with the over-all performance of motorists.
"Most people have reached their destinations and we are grateful that there have been no major incidents or traffic accidents", he said.
Zwane says they will now shift their focus to monitoring pedestrians.
"Especially now we will try to safe pedestrians. We know there will be a problem in built-up areas and we will try to bring those accidents under control".
