5 killed at house party
Five University of Calgary students were killed at a house party.
According to Police Chief Rick Hanson the students were celebrating the end of school year.
When officers arrived they discovered three men dead. A woman and a man were found injured with stab wounds. they both later died in hospital.
"The scene was horrific" Hanson said.
Matthew de Grood, who is a fellow university student, was charged with five counts of first-degree murder on Tuesday afternoon.
A Calgary police statement says the identinties of the victims will be released pending the completion of the autopsies, expected later on Wednesday.
