8-hour planned power interruption in Roodepoort
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
City Power has scheduled an 8-hour planned power interruption in Region C, in the west of Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
Residents serviced by the Christiaan de Wet Road Substation have to brace for a day without electricity.
The interruption will take place from 8am to 4pm.
City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says the interruption is due to essential maintenance work on the entity's network.
"The interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network which is part of our programme of constantly striving to provide a better service. As the supply may be restored at any time, customers are urged to always treat their electricity supply points as live."
The interruption will affect the Honeydew Ridge, Wilgeheuwel, Allen’s Nek, Radiokop, Weltevreden Park, Laser Park, Struben’s Valley, Honeydew, Honeydew Manor, Floracliffe, Zandspruit, Constantia Kloof and Kimbult areas.
