Updated | By Sibahle Motha
At least 9000 people will receive the R350 South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) Covid-19 relief grant before the end of the month.

This was confirmed by Sassa’s Paseka Letsatsi on Monday morning.
Letsatsi says 2 million people have applied for the grant, however after due diligence it has been discovered that majority of those people are already on social grants.
Listen to Letsatsi below:
The R350 relief grant is part of government’s efforts to cushion the poor against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The amount will be paid to qualifying applications from May until October 2020.
The grant forms part of the R500 billion economic and social relief measures announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa in April.
