AA predicts slight breather for motorists
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The Automobile Association predicts a slight drop in fuel prices in November.
Spokesperson Layton Beard says petrol prices are expected to drop between 8c and 18c per litre, diesel by 14 cents illuminating paraffin by 21 cents.
Beard says this is mainly due to a lower international oil price and a stronger rand against the US dollar.

"The latest data from the Central Energy Fund shows that 95 unleaded petrol could be lowered by 9c a litre, while 93 unleaded could be 18c cheaper. The current price for 93 is R15.79 and that of 95 is R16.21 (Gauteng) and R15.57 (coastal).
"In October the price of petrol decreased by 4c per litre (93) and 18c per litre (95). Diesel decreased by 25c for both grades. Illuminating paraffin increased by 25c".
Beard says November’s prices will have a knock-on effect on what motorists will be paying over the Christmas period.
"We certainly hope that the downward trend continues.”
