The process will be headed by the party’s Gauteng chairperson, Funzi Ngobeni.

The party says this is in line with the 2021 municipal election promise.

In 2019 the then Johannesburg Mayor, Herman Mashaba, oversaw the insourcing of cleaners and security guards.

Party leader Heman Mashaba says the establishment of this special committee will help expedite a similar process.

"Attending an insourcing meeting with security and cleaning personnel at the City of Tshwane on Saturday, I promised employees that ActionSA will pursue all avenues within the multi-party government to keep to our promise of insourcing in the coming days."

Mashaba says they will lobby the new mayor, Cilliers Brink, and the city council to ensure insourcing occurs, taking place within the conscript of the laws including consideration of current contractual obligations with service providers.

"ActionSA remains fully committed to the workers of the City of Tshwane to ensure that their conditions improve and that they get the rights they deserve. They are an essential part in restoring good governance in the city and helping us fix the capital city."

"ActionSA is taking this matter of labour brokers within all three spheres of government to our inaugural Policy Conference taking place on the 12th to 14th September, for consideration for this system of exploitation to be scrapped," he added.
