Adam Catzavelos to pay R150 000 for racist rant

Johannesburg businessman Adam Catzavelos has reached a settlement with the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) following his use of the k-word while on holiday in Greece last year.
Catzavelos was hauled before the Equality Court for his racist rant with the commission demanding he pay a fine of R200 000.
The two parties managed to reach a settlement agreement of R150 000.

Catzavelos also offered a public apology to everyone he offended by his use of the k-word.

This is not the end of Catzavelos’ legal battles. He is still facing a charge of crimen injuria brought by the EFF as well as charges in Greece.
