Updated | By Nathan Daniels
North West police have confirmed that two family members of late apartheid struggle stalwart Ahmed Kathrada have been killed.

Kathrada’s 65-year-old Yunus Kathrada nephew and his 28-year-old son Moulana were shot and killed in their home on Thursday evening.
North West police in Schweizer-Reneke say Moulana was attacked by two robbers after he returned home from a place of worship.
“Moulana tried to open the door when he came from church and while he was busy trying, he was attacked by two suspects. The mother heard the sounds, where she called for the father. A suspect shot the 65-year-old father in the head,” says police spokesperson, Kelebogile Moleko.
Two counts of murder are being investigated.
The suspects are still at large.
The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has conveyed their condolences to the relatives.
