Alex pupils angered by stabbing of teacher

Classes have resumed at schools in Alexandra amid anger at the stabbing of the deputy principal at Realogile High School.
A Grade 11 pupil allegedly stabbed the teacher with a pair of scissors after he was called to the office over misconduct.
On Thursday, pupils at Realogile ran amok in Alexandra marching to four other high schools in the area, removing pupils from classes and mobilising them to join their march in solidarity with their deputy principal.
Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona says police arrived at the scene and managed to restore order.
"He allegedly stormed out the office and returned with two pairs of scissors, with which he began chasing and assaulting both the principal and deputy principal. Subsequently, the deputy principal allegedly sustained injuries and was rushed to a local medical facility.
"Fortunately, his condition improved and he has since been discharged. However, this incident has angered the school community of Realogile High school and is suspected to have been the driving force behind today’s unrest."
Mabona says the Grade 12 pupils who are writing preliminary examinations were not disrupted.
