Alexander Forbes director resigns amid Gupta leaks

Alexander Forbes board chairman elect, Moses Kgosana has resigned with immediate effect.
His resignation comes after he was implicated in the so-called Gupta leaks.
Alexander Forbes chief executive, Andrew Darfoor says Kgosana felt resigning was the right thing to do.
The allegations relate to his relationship with the Guptas while chief executive officer and senior partner of KPMG.
"Since he became aware of the published allegations, he felt it was the right course of action to recuse himself from Forbes while he attends to these allegations. We feel this was clear and decisive action from him," Darfoor says.
Kgosana was due to take up the role of chairman from 31 August.
Kgosana joined the company in 2015.
Darfoor says Kgosana’s resignation was unexpected.
"We were very comfortable with his standard and stature. We conducted a fit and proper assessment when he was appointed director in 2015. What transpired these last few days nobody could have anticipated it. Moses has placed the interest of Alexandra Forbes before himself and we support this decision."
Current chairman Sello Moloko will remain in his position in the interim.
