Al Jama-ah rejects ANC's proposed GNU as 'return of DA and white rule'

Al Jama-ah on Monday rejected the ANC's proposal to form a government of national unity following the landmark general elections.
Party leader Ganief Hendricks said the governing party had invited him as part of its consultations with various political parties.
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Friday that his party has decided on a government of national unity as the best option to move the country forward after the 29 May elections.
The ANC met with representatives from the IFP, the EFF, the DA, the NFP, and the Patriotic Alliance after failing to win a governing majority.
Ramaphosa said the party considered different scenarios for establishing the government and decided it could not do so without cooperating with others.
However, Hendricks claims this is merely an ANC plan “to return the DA's white government in South Africa”.
"At the centre of discussions between Al Jama-ah and the ANC was Al Jama-ah's strong position that there should be no place for a return of DA and white governance in South Africa and for the country to become less dependent on white monopoly capital.
“Less dependence on white monopoly is the only way to prosperity for all South Africans. The country’s economy should be controlled by Blacks; the reparation of land will not be achieved by a GNU.
“Codesa delayed true freedom, and a GNU will further bury these aspirations, which would eventually lead to a bloodbath,” he added.

The ANC received 40.18% of the national vote at the polls.
Hendricks said the ANC was given a mandate to govern and serve as a minority government.
"Lessons must be learnt from the past 30 years of freedom, which are described by many as fake. South Africa must govern and serve her people without any interference from the former colonial ‘masters’, which is against the ANC’s policy of non-racialism.
“The inequalities existing amongst South Africans have been allowed to grow to alarming proportions, and this requires a radical change,” he said.
Hendricks believed the freedom enjoyed by South Africans would be reversed if the DA and its multi-charter partners, including the Freedom Front Plus and the ACDP, were allowed to head up portfolio committees in Parliament.
"Al Jama-ah outrightly rejects a GNU because it will include the values of the ‘Moonshot Pact’, which is anti-humanitarian, supports the genocide of Palestinians, and its policies are anti-poor, leaving the vast majority of South Africans out in the cold.”
