Government's Inter-Ministerial Committee on Elections said on Tuesday that it is "all systems go" for what was going to be the most hotly contested local government election, next month.
The IMC, led by Cooperative Governance Minister, Des van Rooyen, met earlier this week to take final stock of the election preparations and he was joined by Communications Minister, Faith Muthambi as well as the minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba.
Van Roooyen's spokesperson, Legadima Leso, said the meeting was the last one for the Inter-Ministerial Committee before the 3rd of August.
"All structures reported that it's all system go. Home Affairs with regards to identity documents, Security structures as well as all other structures reported that they were ready," Meso said.
