The department’s spokesperson Theo Nkonki says only residents will be able to use the road.
“The reason why we are closing this road is that we are doing major rehabilitation work on the road, you would know that over the past couple of months we’ve had recurrences of potholes that was due to the underlying problem on that road.
“The road will be closed from the 16th of March until the 14th of June 2020 and we are apologising to all road users for the inconvenience and we believe that after we are done with this work , it will be a permanent solution.”
Traffic will be redirected to Waterfall Drive towards the R55 during the construction period.
