Alleged drug dealer and cop briber arrested

The suspects were arrested on Thursday night following a tip-off, said Lieutenant Kay Makhubela.

 

The police went to a residential area where they found a vehicle parked at a gate. They asked the owner of the vehicle if they could search it, said Makhubela.

 

Police found drugs with an estimated street value of R100 000 inside the vehicle.

 

"While the police were talking to the man and asking him about the drugs, another came with R18 000 and offered it the police," said Makhubela.

 

Both the men were arrested. The one was charged with drug dealing while the other was charged with bribery.

 

The pair were expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court soon.
