The duo were nabbed when they were spotted by the police sitting in a car by the side of the road.

Gauteng police's Mvela Masondo says the two suspects is suspected to be party of the Rolex Gang which has been targeting and terrorising residents in the north of Johannesburg.

Police managed to recover drugs, balaclavas, hand-gloves, and knives from the two suspects.

The Rolex Gang is notorious for robbing people of expensive watches, jewelry, and handbags in the Sandton area.

"Investigations are continuing to establish that indeed they are part of the gang but as the police, we believe these two are part of the gang," says Masondo.

The suspects, aged 36 and 26, will be appearing at the Alexandra Magistrates Court soon on several charges, including the possession of unlicensed firearms and the possession of drugs and dangerous weapons.

Meanwhile, Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane says she is confident that the police will present a strong case against the suspects.

"I am confident that, with the evidence at police's disposal, they will be able to present a watertight case to ensure that these suspects receive the highest possible terms behind bars.

'This will send a strong message that Gauteng has zero tolerance against any act of criminality.”
