Limpopo police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe, says the 28-year-old suspect was allegedly involved in the killings in Thohoyandou and Maniini village respectively during 2018.

"The two deceased, William Nethononda aged 49 and Tshishonga Nthambeleni aged 65, were gunned down by unknown assailants during two separate incidents," says Ngoepe.

Ngoepe says on the 11th of July 2018, Nethononda was driving his vehicle from a local shopping complex and when he arrived at the house, a car emerged, and unknown suspects opened fire at him.

He adds Nethononda sustained several gunshots wounds and died at the scene.

On the 9th of August 2018 at Maniini Village, Nthambeleni was shot and killed by three unknown suspects at the local car wash.

Ngoepe adds when the 28-year-old suspect was arrested, he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

"He is positively linked to the two Thohoyandou murders and two more murder incidents which he allegedly committed at the Jeppe and Roodepoort Policing areas in the Gauteng Province."

The suspect is expected to appear in front of Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court soon facing two cases of murder.
