Almost half of South Africans believe prayer is more effective than vaccines
Forty-seven percent of South Africans think prayer is more effective than a vaccine in preventing Covid-19 infection.
The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation has released the findings following an Afrobarometer survey.
Seven in 10 South Africans have little or no trust in the government’s ability to ensure that Covid-19 vaccines are safe.
A total of 54% of citizens say it’s unlikely that they will get Covid-19 jabs.
This while others have put their faith in prayer.

The Afrobarometer team in South Africa, led by the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation and Plus 94 Research, interviewed 1,600 adult South Africans in May-June 2021.
