An ambulance driver has laid charges of assault against pastor Paseka "Mboro" Motsoeneng following an incident at the Incredible Happenings church on the East Rand.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services were called out to the church on Sunday after a child collapsed.

EMS says paramedics found the motionless child in the pastor's arms and asked him to put the child down in order for them to conduct tests.

"There was a misunderstanding between the driver of the ambulance and the pastor, where the pastor manhandled the lady," says EMS spokesperson William Ntladi.

He explains paramedics called for backup as the incident unfolded.

The ambulance driver, according to Ntladi, locked herself in the fire truck out of fear.

Motsoeneng meanwhile claims the paramedics acted negligently.

He in turn says he will be laying culpable homicide charges against the paramedics, denying that he assaulted the woman.

"She can lay whatever charges because the whole thing, they were pushing that story because they were running away from the crime they did," insists Motsoeneng.

Ntladi says paramedics treated the child, but the child was declared dead on scene.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
