Amcu: Real state capture is in mining
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) has called for the establishment of a commission of inquiry into the mining sector.

The union addressed the media on the wage talks in the platinum sector and the upcoming commemoration of the Marikana massacre in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
Amcu president Joseph Mathunjwa cautioned South Africans not to be distracted by the commission of inquiry into state capture.

“The real state capture is this mining house, that is a real state capture. Why cannot we not establish a commission that deals with the mining houses?”
Mathunjwa accused mining houses of continuing to exploit workers, saying multinational mining companies are taking the wealth and minerals of the country to only benefit a few families.
