Analyst: Political leaders don't understand the mood of the country
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Political analyst Ralph Mathekga has described the chaos that transpired in the National Assembly on Tuesday afternoon as "embarrassing" and says the country's leaders "don't seem to understand the mood of the country".

Mathekga's comments come after Parliament descended into chaos at the beginning of the sitting, when ANC MP Boy Mamabolo accused EFF leader Julius Malema for the second time of abusing his wife Mantwa.
Malema did not take the claims lying down and hit back by accusing President Cyril Ramaphosa of abusing his late wife Nomazizi Mtshotshisa.
According to Malema, Mtshotshisa used to complain to former President Jacob Zuma that Ramaphosa abused her.
"I think it is quiet embarrassing when the country is faced with such serious challenges around the economy where members should be debating the state of the nation and you see parliament's attention being diverted to petty squabbles among leaders," says Mathekga.
