The ANC's election head, Fikile Mbalula, says the new campaign is about service delivery.

"Thuma Mina is about service delivery, it's to support the impatience of the people and to make it a point that the ANC is obsessed with resolving people's issues, not about our personalities and our own internal squabbles," said Mbalula.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially launch the campaign on Friday.

But political analyst, Ralph Mathekga, says the new campaign has nothing to do with service delivery.

"It's got campaigning written all over it, in my reading of the document is that the ANC is concerned about the breakdown of its branches as connecting points with the voters. I don't understand why they would want to launch a service delivery campaign right now, it has nothing to do with service delivery," says Mathekga.

Mbalula told the media the campaign is about winning the trust of the people, however, Mathekga says this is nothing new.

"People have heard these things before, and here you have North West, so at the end of the day people know the reality they are confronted with on the ground and I don't think any amount of PR will help."
