ANC appoints people on basis of ability, says Ramaphosa

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has challenged opposition parties to release their cadre deployment documents following the ANC's release of its files.
On Friday, the DA said it would launch a contempt of court application against the ANC for not submitting copies of emails and WhatsApps messages of Ramaphosa during his tenure as the chairman of the ANC’s cadre deployment committee.
The DA has given the party's secretary-general Fikile Mbalula until Saturday to submit alleged outstanding documents or face jail time for allegedly being in contempt of court.
The ANC was ordered by the Constitutional Court to submit its cadre deployment documents to the DA following a lengthy legal battle.
Ramaphosa was speaking in Durban ahead of the party's election manifesto on Saturday.
"We have given our records and we now wait for other parties that have also had the cadre deployment experiences and processes, to also now reveal the records of their own federal committees.
"Because what we have always said is that the ANC deploys people on the basis of the ability to do the work and there is nothing sinister about deploying people to do the work that needs to be done."
