ANC General Manager resigns
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The general manager of the African National Congress (ANC), Ignatius Jacobs, has resigned from the party.
His resignation means he won't have to face an internal disciplinary hearing.
The party instituted the process following Jacobs' alleged involvement in the covert operation that was aimed at sabotaging opposition parties ahead of the 2016 municipal elections.
Party spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says the ANC accepted Jacobs's resignation.
"A disciplinary process was supposed to begin on Friday, but the general manager decided to resign and the ANC accepts his resignation," says Kodwa.
Kodwa says Jacobs remains a member of the ANC, despite his resignation.
