ANC, IFP dominate Mtubatuba by-elections

The ANC won 12 of the 19 wards while the IFP took the other seven, according to results posted on the IEC website on Thursday morning.
This left the EFF, who were contesting by-elections in the province for the first time, with no wins under its belt.
The EFF had contested seven of the wards.
The African National Congress took three wards which were previously represented by the IFP.
The IFP took one ward previously represented by the ANC.
The municipality's council was dissolved in February following a decision by the provincial Cabinet. This followed political instability in the area.
The ANC, IFP and DA contested all 19 wards during the by-elections which were held on Wednesday.
The ANC previously represented 10 wards in the area and IFP nine.
The National Freedom Party contest 15 wards and the African Independent Congress 18.
