ANC in Limpopo denies provincial chair joining MK

The ANC in Limpopo says has denied reports that its provincial chairperson Stan Mathabatha has left the party to join the MK Party.

This comes after a poster circulated on social media, claiming Mathabatha has joined the political newcomers.
Former president Jacob Zuma has already thrown his weight behind the party, saying he is no longer able to vote for the ANC under the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
"As the ANC in the province, we wish to assure all our structures and all the members of the public that the provincial chairperson of the ANC is not a member of the MK party and does not have any intention of joining the MK Party,” said the ANC provincial spokesperson Jimmy Machaka.
"We further call upon them not to take this poster seriously because this is an attempt to weaken the ANC and to move focus from us and the election work of the ANC. The chairperson of the ANC is fully committed to the work of the unity and renewal of the ANC, and therefore, any attempt to characterise him as a member of the MK Party is misleading and should be treated as false."
