The total number of voting delegates attending conference are 4776, but only 4708 voted. The committee is busy probing the "disappearance of the 68 delegates.

The issue seems to revolve around the election of Ace Magashule as the new secretary general. He beat Senzo Mchunu by 24 votes.

Supporters of newly-elected ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa are now raising alleged irregularities, arguing that 68 lawful voting delegates were never given any opportunity to vote.

ANC North West chairperson, Supra Mahumapelo, says he has received a mandate from his constituency, requesting a re-vote of the entire newly elected top leadership.

"If people are contesting the outcome of the election, they must do it politically and understand the risks if a re-vote is demanded. You can't just call a re-vote or recount of one position because you don't know who voted how. This was a secret ballot.
